I was asked to pick an existing event and rebrand it. I picked the Buffalo Wing Festival and chose to make the name and brand more fun, because the festival is full of fun competitions. When you think of wings, you think of hot. Most designers chose to represent hot with flames. I chose to brand this event with a hot sauce bottle that has a range of colors we associate with mild to hot. I thought it was a creative way to list out all of the information while still representing the event.
Other elements that were used throughout my rebrand were the bite mark and the napkin texture. The napkin texture is something viewer’s associate with eating and I wanted the bite mark to show playfulness, but also showing that the wings are so good, someone couldn’t wait but just take a bite out of something just advertising. I stuck with a bulkier, playful font to give the audience a feel of what the event is like.
